Reading Update #3 – Wild and Wrangled
How is it the book I was least excited to read in this series is actually my favorite?!
Fun fact about me: I’ve never read all the books in any interconnected standalone series. My investment is usually in the main characters, and I don’t really care to see how everyone else’s story plays out. This has remained a true fact about me until today.
I wanted an easy, light read while I cleaned, and I knew I only had one book left in the series. I also wanted to complete it, and I thought about how much I enjoyed the Done and Dusted series. I’ve read three out of four books, which is its on accomplishment and has never been done before. I decided to listen to Wild and Wrangled for a few reasons. First, I loved the setting Lyla Sage created at Rebel Blue Ranch. Wyoming, horses, small-town, close-knit family and friend group, romance, it has so many good pieces.
Out of the three I read, the first couple, Emmy and Luke, remain my favorite UNTIL I started listening to Wild and Wrangled. I experienced that classic “why did I wait so long to read this book?!” feeling.
I am obsessed with Cam and Dusty’s story, and I never knew I liked the second-chance romance trope until now. What’s even crazier is that Cam and Dusty fell into the category of side characters I wasn’t that invested in, and now I’m obsessed with them. I was actually excited for Teddy and Gus’s book, but that one kind of fell short for me, which makes this even more surprising.
I’m about 33% into Wild and Wrangled, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes.
