Reading update #6 The Exception to the Rule

Have you ever gotten a book rec from TikTok and it ends up being one of the best things you ever read? That’s what happened to me when I read The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren. It’s a short story, 100 pages, and one of my mutuals on TikTok was absolutely gushinggggg over it. I had to read it. The email format, the plot, the romance, it was all just so perfect. I won’t lie, I was on the fence about short stories because how can a whole story be told from beginning to end in just 100 pages?! We all have heard not to judge a book by its cover, now I’ve learned not to judge a book by its page limit either. This was supposed to be my train ride read from Baltimore to New York, but I ended up binging it during a car ride to and from dinner.
