54 Thoughts I Had While Reading Heat of the Everflame

Chileeeeeeeee. I had a time reading this book let me tell you. Whew. So many thoughts. Let’s go through them. Raw, uncut, unfiltered:

1. Seems like we’re copying GOT here with the ballista and trying to take Sorae down 

2. I am physically stressed out because Diem isn’t getting on Sorae and getting tf out of dodge. If sorae gets hit and killed by a ballista I’m raging 

3. I like that we get to see the other realms, Ignios, Arboros, who’s next

4. I’m not reading anymore if Taran dies 

5. I DO NOT LIKE IGNIOS CROWN HITTING HIS GRYVERN

6. WHAT THE FUCK IS LUTHER HIDING DAMMIT HE BETTER NOT BE DYING

7. My favorite parts are when all three of them are talking together at the same time when ever Diem drops a bomb 

8. “It’s time to get used to having them at your side, not me” okay this is the second time he’s said something like this AND I DONT LIKE IT 

9. Wait is it a coincidence that Ulther also spells Luther??????????????

10. Zalaric called Taran all these different names is cracking me up 

11. So is Diem the mother of dragons now? First the Ignios gryvern and now the Montios dragonfyre

12. Is Diem so dumb that she’s not putting together that Luther is covering himself, acting strange, and now she finds the same herbs she used to heal Taran from the godstone in the room. GIRL

13.  have a feeling when Diem gets back to Lumnos she’s not going to be able to rule since Sophos is calling her an imposter and she wasn’t properly coronated?

14. Diem: let’s all stop keeping secrets. Also Diem: I’m still going to keep secrets 

15. Diem is supposed to be this amazing healer but she can’t tell something is grossly wrong with him. I’m starting to get pissed off

16. I low key like the Umbros queen Yrselle

17. If I don’t find out what Luther is hiding during this mirror drinking game I’m RIOTING

18. Taran being a hopeless romantic cracks me up 

19. So no one is going to acknowledge Diem was right and her feeling of needing to speak with the Umbros queen was completely spot on

20. I mean this is so fucking stupid bro of course Luther was hurt by the godstone in arboros it was so freaking obvious you’ve got to be kidding me how Diem never noticed is beyond me. Whack ass healer. And wtf is Luther’s reason for keeping this from her AFTER HE SAW HER HEAL TARAN. This literally just ruined my morning as I’m reading this at 7 am on the train during my commute to work 

21. “I was supposed to be a healer how could I miss what was right under my nose?” Diem don’t piss me off right now 

22. Alright I gotta give it to Diem her free falling unexpectedly onto sorae was pretty cool 

23. Why aren’t we telling Teller what the problem is so he can use his super smart brain to think of a cure or something for godstone

24. Isn’t Lily like 18? Why is she written like she’s a child 

25. I feel like Diem having powers from every realm isn’t being talked about enough, I know we just brought Luther back from the dead but still 

26. Yah, I knew Diem was going to have hard time being queen once she was back in Lumnos. But is Regis stupid. She could just tell everyone he has no magic 

27. Pause. Why is Alixe even friends with Ileana still. 

28. “I trust you Alixe. Do what you believe is best for the realm, whatever that may be” yeah this isn’t going to end well. We know that Diem is hotheaded, and in Umbros we learned that Alixe doesn’t think she’s the best choice for Queen. Something is going to happen that will make Alixe turn on Diem 

29. Alright Diem did her thing in Mortal City with her lil speech and display of power 

30. I am not finishing this series if Sorae dies

31. Attacking Sorae is like attacking Appa. You just don’t do it 

32. I mean it was so stupid for Diem to go in a locked cell of just godstone. She really pisses me off bro

33. “It seemed all five of his brain cells had been devoted to the art of the fight” this was actually very funny 

34. Okay the Queen of Fortos wasn’t on my bingo card. High key love that diem is OP

35. Sorae better not die because of some promise Diem wanted to keep to Teller. He already saw Auralie just listen to Luther and go to Montios

36. Came to Montios and just got a bunch a info dumping. I’m not mad at it though 

37. Now Diem girl, you have to know that this other Descended who you’re seeing visions of AND HAS YOUR SAME EYES is your father girl don’t be dense IM BEGGING YOU

38. I don’t trust or like Auralie

39. So Diem sees that this all powerful Descended’s aura is next level, but she still thinks she can take him on WHEN SHE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE ALL HER MAGIC

40. I mean duh that’s her father. Please 

41. I’m confident that during this 1v1 conversation between Luther and Auralie, he told her that he’s Diem’s mate

42. I like how Diem has been making every realms crown question their beliefs 

43. You know Teller has a good point why would Diem believe anything Henri has to say about anything 

44. Yooooo Doriel is pissing me off bro 

45. I’ll give it to Penn Cole, these are some unique names – Ophiucae, Xipherus

48. Watching Diem fall in love with Luther has been so sweet 

49. Bro is Doriel about to betray Diem and if so why didn’t her Umbros magic catch on to it 

50. He’s totally about to give Diem over to Ophiucae

53. I’m more curious to know what Umbros meant by telling diem to beware of her successor
