    My Review Style

So, I won’t lie – this is my first time officially reviewing books in a written format. I’ve talked about them with friends, gone on long-winded rants, made the occasional TikTok, and even took notes in my Notes app that have never seen the light of day. But other than that, I’ve never posted official book reviews, so I’m excited for this new, fun adventure! At the moment, I can’t say I have a defined review style, but I do have my deer-star rating guide (get it? Instead of stars, I’m using deer). What I can say about my rating system is that the plot and how I felt while…

    Welcome to the Enchanted Forest!

Hello, and welcome to my enchanted forest! My name is Alexis, and I’m a lover of books, traveling, good food, and cozy cuddles with my cat. Reading and writing have always been a part of my life—I’ve been doing both for as long as I can remember. Honestly, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to start a book blog! When I think about it, having a space to yap about the books I read is exactly what I’ve been missing. As for what I enjoy reading, fantasy romance has my heart. Give me all the faeries, dragons, wyverns, phoenixes, griffins, unicorns, mermaids, shapeshifters, elves, vampires, werewolves, centaurs, nymphs—every…

This year, I’m aiming a little higher. Let’s dive into my goals for 2025! Setting My 2025 Reading Goal This year, I want to read 30 books. Last year, I read 25, but it took some serious power reading on New Year’s Eve to make it happen (I finished at 10:45 p.m.!). Despite cutting it so close, I feel confident I can hit 30 books this year. Why? Audiobooks. I discovered them late…

    2025 Physical TBR

The start of a new year means taking a hard look at my bookshelves and seeing how many books I’ve collected vs. reading. I feel like I didn’t do that bad, there are definitely more read books on my shelves than unread, but I would like to at least cut down my unread list in half. And my reward? Buying more books of course. One caveat is that this list includes all the unread books as of January 1, 2025, but since then, I have read two of the books. Check out my 2025 physical TBR below! 1. Fourth Wing & Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros If you read fantasy…
